At Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, the Training and Placement (T&P) Cell serves as the cornerstone for enabling students to transition successfully from academia to industry. Mission of the T&P Cell
To empower students into becoming industry-ready professionals through a dynamic, inclusive, and future-forward talent transformation ecosystem, aligned with the ethos of excellence, innovation, and holistic development at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.
Objectives
- To organize campus recruitment drives for B.Tech students by inviting reputed companies from across India and abroad.
- To prepare students for placements through aptitude and coding assessments, group discussions, and interview skills training by professional experts.
- To enhance students’ personality development and communication skills through structured workshops and training modules.
- To provide career counselling and guidance by conducting sessions with senior professionals from industry and academia.
- To build and sustain regular engagement with the industry through seminars, guest lectures, conferences, industrial visits, live projects, and academic collaborations.

- To nurture agile and adaptive talent through structured training programs that foster technical competencies, professional aptitude, and personal excellence, in alignment with the evolving needs of global industries.

- To bridge the academia-industry gap by integrating domain-specific skill development, real-world exposure, and industry collaborations, thereby equipping students to confidently navigate recruitment processes and professional environments.
Placement Policy Highlights
- A student may apply to any number of IT/Core companies. However, after receiving two job offers, they will be excluded from further placement processes.
- A Dream Offer is defined as compensation of INR 10 LPA or above. A student is eligible for only one Dream Offer.

Eligibility to participate in placement drives is based on:
- Maintaining a minimum academic score of 60% throughout (10th, 12th, graduation, and each semester).
- Meeting additional eligibility criteria specified by individual companies.
- All communication between companies and students must be routed through the Training & Placement Cell.
- Students opting out of the final placement process for personal or higher education-related reasons must formally notify the T&P Cell.
- The role of the T&P Cell is to act as a facilitator and counsellor—not as a job guarantor.

Placement Disclaimer
- The Institute facilitates opportunities for placements but does not guarantee them.
- Final selection rests with the recruiting company, based on merit and performance.
- Placement is a privilege, not a right.

Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 60% academic score across all educational stages unless otherwise specified.
- Students must maintain regular attendance and discipline; defaulters may be debarred.

Recruitment Participation Norms
- Students may withdraw after a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT), even after confirming attendance.
- However, if a student participates in subsequent selection rounds and is offered a role, they will be ineligible for future drives, except under “Dream Offer” conditions.

Job Offer Policy
- A student is allowed up to two offers. Post that, they will exit the placement process.
- “Dream Offers” are allowed as a one-time opportunity and do not impact the regular offer count if availed first.
- In “Day 1” or multi-company Dream Scenarios, students may appear for multiple companies but can accept only one final offer.

Internships
Purpose
This policy is designed to guide students of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (SIT-H) in pursuing internships and trainings that complement their academic and professional development, while maintaining institutional discipline and attendance requirements.
Scope
This policy applies to all undergraduate students of SIT-H across all departments.
Objectives
- Encourage students to engage in industrial internships, research projects, and certified trainings.
- Ensure that such activities align with academic goals and industry standards.
- Provide a clear framework for attendance approval during internship/training periods.
Guidelines
Eligibility
- Students must have completed their second semester of study.
- The student should maintain a minimum CGPA of 6.0 and must not have any backlogs at the time of applying.
Duration & Timelines
- Internships may be undertaken during the summer break (May–July) or winter break (December–January).
- Training/internship during regular academic semesters will be permitted only in exceptional cases with justified documentation.
Application Process
- Students must submit an application form along with the offer letter from the organization.
- A brief Statement of Purpose (SOP) and relevance of the opportunity to their academic goals must be attached.
- The application must be endorsed by the faculty mentor and Placement Cell Incharge before final submission to the Director.
Attendance & Academic Consideration
- Attendance exemption for the duration of the internship/training shall be subject to prior written approval by the Director.
- Students are responsible for covering all academic work and internal assessments missed during the approved period.
- No leniency will be granted for academic performance due to absence.
Reporting and Evaluation
- Upon completion, students must submit an Internship Completion Report and Certificate of Participation to their department.
- An internal presentation or viva may be conducted to evaluate the learning outcomes.
Misuse and Disciplinary Action
- Any false claims or unauthorized absence under the pretext of internship/training will be treated as a disciplinary violation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Students: Apply formally, attend responsibly, and report appropriately.
- Faculty Mentors: Guide and ensure relevance of opportunity.
- Placement Cell Incharge/ Department Head of the Departments: Vet and recommend applications.
- Director: Final authority for approval of attendance and exceptional cases.

Training Activities
At SIT Hyderabad, we offer various training activities to enhance placement opportunities for our students. The training fundamentals are divided into three important skill sets. The institute has formulated Skill Enhancement Courses like Flexi Credit Courses for students from the first year every semester to enhance their competence skills in all manner.
The faculty, industry personnel, and training professionals conduct year-round sessions to enhance students' skill sets. Automated software “CODE TANTRA” & “HackerRank” is used to continuously assess their performance in all skill sets.
Technical & Programming Skills
- Technical Workshops: We organize technical workshops focused on enhancing students' proficiency in core engineering subjects and emerging technologies. Industry experts conduct these workshops and cover topics relevant to the current job market.
- Industry Interaction Sessions: We invite industry professionals to interact with students and share insights into current industry trends, expectations, and recruitment processes. These sessions provide students with valuable guidance and industry exposure.
- Technical Competition, Peer-to-Peer Learning & Hackathon: Regular activities are conducted to challenge students' technical abilities across diverse industry scenarios, involving solving real-world industry problem statements to cultivate practical problem-solving skills.
- Integrated Industry-Oriented Value-Added Courses: Students are required to participate in value-added courses from their first year, which are seamlessly integrated with the academic curriculum.
Aptitude Skills
- Aptitude Test Preparation: We offer training programs to prepare students for aptitude tests commonly used by companies during recruitment. These programs cover topics such as quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal ability.
Soft Skills Session
- Soft Skills Training: We conduct soft skills training sessions to improve students' communication, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities. These sessions help students develop the professional skills necessary to succeed in interviews and workplace environments.
- Mock Interviews: Mock interview sessions are organized to simulate real interview scenarios. Feedback is provided to students to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement, allowing them to refine their interview skills.
- Group Discussion Practice: Group discussion sessions are conducted to help students improve their communication and presentation skills. Students are given topics to discuss, and constructive feedback is provided to help them enhance their performance.
- Resume Building Workshops: Workshops on resume building are organized to help students create professional and impactful resumes. Tips and best practices are shared to ensure students' resumes effectively highlight their skills and achievements.
- Career Counselling: Individualized career counselling sessions are conducted to assist students in identifying their career goals and charting out a personalized career path. Guidance is provided on industry trends, job opportunities, and skill development areas.
