Objective
To establish a robust, inclusive, and structured Student Council that supports leadership development, interdepartmental coordination, student-driven innovation, and better representation of student communities in line with SIT Hyderabad’s academic, professional, and extracurricular goals.
Advocacy and Representation
The Student's Council aims to be the voice of the student body, advocating for their rights, concerns, and welfare within the Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (SITH) community. We strive to represent the diverse interests and opinions of students in all matters affecting their academic and non-academic experiences.
Enhancing Student Experience
Our primary goal is to enhance the overall student experience at SITH by organizing various events, activities, and initiatives that foster personal growth, academic excellence, and holistic development. We aim to create a vibrant campus culture that encourages student engagement and participation.
Promoting Student Welfare
The Student's Council is committed to promoting the welfare and well-being of all students at SITH. This includes providing support services, resources, and assistance to help students overcome any challenges they may face during their academic journey. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected.
Facilitating Communication and Collaboration
We seek to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between students, faculty, administration, and other stakeholders within the SITH community. By fostering open dialogue and constructive engagement, we aim to build strong relationships and partnerships that contribute to the overall growth and development of the institute.
Empowering Student Leadership
The Student's Council is dedicated to nurturing and empowering student leaders who will serve as catalysts for positive change within the SITH community and beyond. Student Leadership and Participation
- Students may nominate or be elected to serve in councils, cells, and clubs recognized by SIT Hyderabad.
- Participation in officially approved events will be governed by clear accountability and reporting mechanisms.
Attendance and Academic Considerations
Attendance Exemption- Students involved in institutionally recognized events, forums, and organizing committees may be considered for attendance exemption, provided the activity contributes meaningfully to SIT’s reputation and the student's development.
- Such exemptions will be granted only upon prior written approval from the Director.
- Formal application citing the nature, date, and relevance of the activity.
- Endorsement from the Student Affairs.
- Submission of post-activity reports (event outcomes, participation certificates, etc.) is mandatory.
- It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that academic performance is not compromised.
- No concessions in internal marks or examination schedule will be entertained unless under exceptional and approved circumstances.
- Students representing SIT Hyderabad must uphold institutional values and professional conduct.
- Any misrepresentation or indiscipline during events may lead to withdrawal of privileges or disciplinary action.
- Students: Participate actively, submit required documentation, maintain discipline.
- Student Affairs Office: Coordinate student activities, monitor participation, and maintain records.
- Student Affairs: Vet participation requests and recommend deserving cases.
- Director: Final authority for attendance approvals and exceptions.
